29th April 2011 - the day Tumblr fell in love with Prince Harry.
haha… this is cute. I didn’t wake up to watch, nor did I even record. I knew I’d get my fill with all the morning show coverage. I’m not gaga for the royals like many Americans seem to be, and many times throughout the run up to the wedding I thought it was all getting a bit ridiculous. But the truth is, I am a romantic at heart, and I found myself smiling as I watched the recaps this morning. I particularly liked this moment, too… an honest moment between brothers. Kate was beautiful and she and William looked very happy. I hope they have a long and happy life together.
I can't seem to reply to your post regarding TPC, but I've been listening to them for about a year, and if you like bands like TDCC, and Ra Ra Riot, I think you'd DEFINITELY like Tokyo Police Club.
Some songs I'd recommend ;
Literally, any song from the Champ album, especially;
I love them, and I'm going to see them live on July 9th, they're great !
Great! Thanks for the suggestions. I love TDCC and Ra Ra Riot, so I’ll definitely give TPC a shot. Thanks.. and thanks for following! :)
Jack Johnson // ‘Breakdown (Handsome Boy Modeling School Remix)
Jack Johnson’s 2004 In Between Dreams remains to this day one ITYLTS’s favourite albums. This remix of the single Breakdown by Handsome Boy Modeling School is brilliantly done, adding a hip hop beat to it, it makes Breakdown into something maybe even cooler than the original.
Many, many of my friends love Jack Johnson. I just have never really been able to get into his stuff. I mean, I like it, it’s nice to listen to, but to me, it all kind of starts to sound the same. Then again, I may just be saying that because I really haven’t given it a good listen. At any rate, I can definitely get behind this remix.
When my friends and I heard about this tour a couple of months ago, we didn’t even need to ask each other who wanted to go. It’s a given for us now. If Mumford and Sons are coming, we will be there. There ended up being a group of eight of us last night- eight of my most music and Mumford loving friends. We had to head down in two separate groups due to things like kids and jobs- you know, grown-up ‘responsibilities’.
but I just have to say, seeing Mumford & Sons live has become something of a religious experience for me. And I’m not remotely religious. Will write more tomorrow, but right now, I’m covered in sweat and dirt at least two inches thick, and a shower, then bed, is required. Nighty-night, tumblrers.
just walked in here even to say thanks for being following the weheartcoldplay.tumblr.com and thank you for your affection, I'm also here to congratulate you and I do not even get tired, your tumblr is genuinely the most perfect I've ever seen one day , keep this love!
anything do not hesitate to contact, comment, participate, everything I write, and I put it to you for all of us lovers of Coldplay *-*
hope to see you soon
lots and lots of tender kisses, stay with God, have a good night!
thank you! I always love finding new coldplay fans!
There is something about listening to this album that feels so familiar and comfortable. This is a band I’ve been listening to for so long, and though they’ve evolved and changed over the years, this still feels like that warm cozy place I’ve enjoyed for so long.
Went to see The Naked and Famous, Freelance Whales and Foals last Thursday night. I was excited to see these bands, but my enthusiasm was a little tempered by the fact that I was already exhausted and I knew I had a 6 hour car drive ahead of me the next day.
My friend and I got to the venue pretty early, but there was already a long line around the building. We got in and found our new favorite spot on the steps, farther back, but dead center. The Naked and Famous came on around 8:30. I know very little of their music, but what I’d heard of it, I liked. They were pretty good; not great. Their uptempo stuff was fun and got people moving, but when they slowed things down, they really seemed to lose momentum. They also really need to work on their stage presence. I couldn’t understand a word they said, mainly because the lead singer was practically whispering into the mic when she spoke, but when she sang, she wailed. Overall, they were good, but I’m not sure I’d feel the need to see them again.
Next up were Freelance Whales. This was the band I was most looking forward to that night. I’ve loved their album, Weathervanes, and was really excited to hear them live. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. Lead singer Judah Dadone’s voice, which is slight, but so vital on the album, seemed to get completely lost live. I really could barely hear him half the time. I think they were a bit plagued by audio problems most of their set. They also seemed a bit bogged down by their instrumentation. It all sounds so wonderful on the album, but live, at times there was so much going on, it detracted from the beauty of their songs. Toward the end of their set, they seemed to find their groove a little better, with the harmonies on Location really coming together and soaring. They closed with Generator ^ Second Floor, which was the perfect way to end, and it really did sound fantastic. I’d definitely like to see them live again, when they are the featured performers. I couldn’t help but think that the sound wasn’t set up for them, and the balance just wasn’t as it should be.
Finally, Foals came on a bit after 11. At this point, my friend and I had agreed that we wouldn’t stay for the whole set. We were both already so tired and both had really long days (with very early starts) ahead of us. After the Foals started, I think our decision on that issue wavered a bit. They sounded incredible. I really don’t know much Foals at all, and they were kind of an afterthought for me that night. But, I was very impressed with their set (though I only saw half of it ). The crowd was very into it, and so was the band, which is always a good thing. I’d definitely like to see them live again.
Overall, the show was not the best I’d ever been to, but it was enjoyable and there were more than enough moments that made it entirely worth going to. Oh, and thanks to my concert buddy for joining me again! x
Have some messages to respond to, new followers to welcome and a concert write-up to do, but it’s almost 1 am and I’m supposed to be in a car at 6. Please forgive me for putting everything off til Sunday!
Hope you all have a great weekend, and a happy bunny/spring/Easter day. xo
I have heaps of Garbage albums from the 90’s, and I could still sing back this song word for word without listening in ten years.Thank you for reminding me.
My pleasure! I choose that song because I happened to hear it on the radio the day before and remembered seeing that concert. Btw, you should activate your ask box so we can chat back and forth… it seems that we have a lot in common! :)
This may be the Snow Patrol song that I have reblogged on here most often. I love this song. Absolutely love it. And most of that love is directed towards the lyrics, starting with those posted above. <3
