I came across this note I did on Facebook a couple of years ago… it was one of those things that got passed around, and you’d tag people, etc., etc. When I first made this list, in November of 2009, it was before I had really gotten back into music. It was interesting to see what was on the list, and what I hadn’t even heard yet.
So, since my musical life has changed quite a bit in those two years, I’m making a new list. Some albums are holdovers from the original list, some are new additions. My plan is to highlight an album every day, so it’s not just a random list of albums, but there is an explanation as to why that album is included on the list. Here’s what the assignment looked like:
Think of 25 albums that had such a profound effect on you they changed your life or the way you looked at it. They sucked you in and took you over for days, weeks, months, years. These are the albums that you can use to identify time, places, people, emotions. They might not be what you listen to now, but these are the albums that, no matter what they were thought of musically, shaped your world.
