25 Albums That Changed My Life
I came across this note I did on Facebook a couple of years ago… it was one of those things that got passed around, and you’d tag people, etc., etc. When I first made this list, in November of 2009, it was before I had really gotten back into music. It was interesting to see what was on the list, and what I hadn’t even heard yet. So, since my musical life has changed quite a bit...

Random R.E.M. Remembrance of the Day
I’m sitting here, catching up on some emails and the like, and I came across Find the River posted on my blog. I pressed play, thinking it would be a great song to listen to right now. My computer speakers are turned up quite a bit louder than they normally are, as I was watching a video earlier that was too quiet. So the music started up, and I just stopped. Completely stopped what I was...

dahliadaisie replied to your post: Dammit Studio version, uploaded by SP: youtu.be/IEN9hmp… :) Thank you for that! :) Unfortunately, the content “Has been blocked in my country” by UMG on “copyright grounds”. :-( Never fear, though. A fellow SP friend has gifted me with a download link.  Thanks for trying to help out an SPer out! x

Dammit
So the problem with being all tied up in Coldplay right now is the fact that I’ve neglected my other favorite boys. Snow Patrol are also right in the middle of promotion, festivals and song releases for their new album, Fallen Empires, due out in November. I have been on top of things enough to hear (and fall madly, passionately in love with) Called Out in the Dark, and have heard Fallen...

Yesterday, on THE BEST RADIO STATION EVER, I heard the acoustic version of Lovers in Japan. The ACOUSTIC version. I’ve never even heard the studio version of LiJ on the radio. Also, the day before that, I woke up to my clock radio (set on the same station) playing Paradise. AND, they’ve got Snow Patrol’s Called Out in the Dark in pretty good rotation, too! ahhhh…....

Coldplay fans.. Go Here! →
This is so cool. Multi-angle videos of Coldplay’s set (almost the whole thing) from ACL 2011. Many of the videos are taken by audience members, so you get the perspective of being there. Love it!

oops!
Sorry, Marie and Chelsea and whomever else I follow who’s already posted the Death Cab video. I posted it right when I came across it online, without checking my dash. I’d have reblogged if I had seen it here first! :D

A Revelation
I’ve come to the realization that my life as a suburban housewife bears a striking resemblance to that of those wacky kids on the Jersey Shore. I too live by the mantra GTL: Gym. Tumblr. Laundry. It’s that alternate “T” that makes all the difference, apparently.

merryberry9 replied to your post: Is it cool yet, where you are? it’s humid & low 80s in Boston today - the last two weeks it was in the mid-low 60s which was amazing. I’m done with the tropics already. does it ever get truly cold in TX though? It was 105 here yesterday. Seriously. This sucks. It does get cold here, though not AS cold as it does in Boston, and not for nearly as long....

Is it cool yet, where you are?
So, today’s the first day of Fall, which is far and away my favorite season. I love the weather, the colors, wearing sweaters, visiting the pumpkin patch, Halloween. Everything. LOVE IT. Unfortunately, high temperatures here are expected to remain in the mid to upper-90s for at least the next week. Not very fall-like at all. I want so badly to make soup and pumpkin bread and watch movies...

Austin City Limits Fest 2011 Recap- Day 2
Gah. I need to do these recaps before I forget things! Day 2, Saturday, was a much more relaxed ACL day than Day 1 for me. My friends and I got to the park in time to see the end of The Antlers set. I liked it, but honestly, didn’t pay too much attention, as were were milling around trying to find spots and get settled. Also, they seem to be another act whose music is better in a more...

Just a thought...
I can appreciate the fact that not everyone likes Paradise. I can even understand that many people flat out hate it. That’s fine. Hate it. Skip it every time it comes up on iTunes. Be upset that it isn’t true to the vision of the band that you hold dear. That is certainly your right. But, I would really appreciate it if you wouldn’t imply that I’m a deaf, mindless follower...

I'm back!
I’m doing this a little backwards, since I’ve already posted something about my weekend, but just wanted to say sorry for the complete and total lack of communication from Thursday onwards. The weekend was one of the busiest and most fun-filled I’ve had, and I had very little time to get online. When I did get time, I was far too tired to have a coherent thought. So, if...
